Grr.. Do you ever hate your computer so much you could throw it against the wall? Yeah, I feel like that about right now. I Had this long post all written out and then whoops! Internet Explorer has encountered an error. Of course it has..
So, lets see if I can remember the gist of it. I've been making jewelry a lot lately. I've been taking pieces of old jewelry and putting them together. I still have some more to do and none of the pieces are actually finishedbut they're getting there! I'm really enjoying doing this, its actually quite fun. Here are a couple things that are the closest to being done..
This is probably my favorite.. so much so, that its really hard for me to sell it but I must! lol. I took rhinestones from a vintage necklace and soldered them together into the shape of a cross. The chain is actually three different chains connected by an aquamarine gemstone bead.
This one was just and old broach that I soldered into a pendant for a necklace.
This one is pretty neat... I don't normally go for the whole western thing but I would definitely make an exception with this one. I'm not really sure what the horse shoe used to be but I had this pendant of a horse running that fit so perfectly in the middle of it, I knew they had to go together.
I've also been in wedding planning mode.. And getting these little guys ready...
I found this cake topper at an antique shop down in Oregon. I wish I would have taken a before picture because I've changed it quite a bit. It was a little busted up so I didn't feel too bad changing it.. lol. The bride was wearing silver, not white, and had a large silver lace skirt on that covered the bottom half of the groom as well. It also had kind of a lace arch behind the bride and groom. I took her skirt off to find that she had a dress on underneath that looks just like the dress I want! It was kind of half silver and half white though.. haha. I basically repainted everything, the tux, the base and her dress.. even the hair.
Also, something I'm sure my mom will be thrilled about.. I've been home for a while on summer vacation and I see my mom take naps with her nap buddy every other day..
